Convenient Airport Transfers: Stress-free travel with pick-up and drop-off from Granada or Málaga airports included in the program. Dates are communicated in advance, outside of these dates, private transfers can be organised at an extra cost.

Process Overview:

  1. Initial inquiry: Contact TY Experiences by phone for more information.
  2. Interviews: Interviews with candidate (& parent’s) via Zoom.
  3. Sign TY Experience agreement.
  4. Cover Letter *: The child must prepare and submit a cover letter inSpanish, explaining their interest in this opportunity & personal goals for their future.
  5. Documentation: Send a copy of the child’s passport along with a parent’s passport.
  6. Date Confirmation: Confirm the preferred dates for the program; aminimum commitment of 2 months is required.
  7. School place offered in writing and flights can be bought.
  8. Deposit Requirement: To secure the school placement, the 600€ for matriculation will be required.
  9. A refundable deposit of €500 is also required. This deposit will be used at the school’s discretion for any damages to property or extra expenses incurred during the stay.
  10. Auto-biography submission: Each student is required to write a short autobiography for the school and host family. Please include several photos of the child and their family.
  11. Code of Conduct: Both the Irish student and their parents must sign the schools usual Ts& Cs and rules of behaviour

    Important Note: The consumption of drugs and/or alcohol is strictly prohibited. Any violations of Spanish law or boarding rules, will result in the use of the €500 deposit to arrange a flight home for the child within 72 hours, with no refunds provided.

Numbers: 1,200 students (3-18 years) with approx 100 boarding students (13 years +), fostering a close-knit, family-like atmosphere.

Bedroom Set-Up: Students typically share dormitory-style rooms with 4-6 students per room. All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms.

Weekly Timetable:

07:15 - 08:15: wake up and breakfast all the boarders together.

08:15 - 14:45: Academic classes with a snack mid-morning.

14:45 - 15:10: lunch in school dining hall

15:10 - 16:00: Free time

16:00 - 17:45: study block 1, Spanish classes & activities

17:45 - 19:15: snack and free time

19:15 - 20:45 study block 2 or project-based learning sessions.

21:15 - 22:30 Free Time.

22:30 - 23:30: shower time & lights out

There is time to walk into town mid-week with permission

Extracurricular Activities: are dependent on the demand of boarders and can include; Sports: Soccer, basketball, volleyball, and swimming.

Creative Arts: Art workshops, music lessons, and theatre productions, debate club, science club, and cultural exchange programs.

Community service & volunteer initiatives are part of the school’s ethos.

Weekend Activities: Weekends are designed for relaxation, exploration, and bonding.

Activities often include: Organized excursions to explore Granada’s cultural and historical landmarks, such as the Alhambra and the Albaicín. Outdoor adventures like hiking in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Social events such as movie nights, sports tournaments, and group dinners.
